Knowledge that helps you understand, notice and respond

Parents receive guidance about many of the practical aspects of raising children. We learn about feeding, sleep, development, behaviour, starting childcare and beginning school.

But there are other important areas of parenting that are rarely talked about. What should you expect from the adults caring for your child? What does good safeguarding look like in practice? What should you notice, what questions should you ask, and how should you respond if something doesn't feel right?

Our Parent Education Series focuses on these often-overlooked aspects of keeping children safe, helping parents build the knowledge and confidence to better understand the environments, relationships and experiences that shape their children's lives.

Looking beyond the obvious

Keeping children safe is about more than recognising obvious warning signs. It means understanding relationships, boundaries, adult behaviour and the environments children spend time in.

Our education will provide practical knowledge to help parents talk with their children, recognise concerns, ask informed questions and respond thoughtfully when something doesn't feel right — without creating unnecessary fear or anxiety.
